The Need for Continuous Learning in Public Relations with Steven Waddington

Thirty days is the length of time it takes to form a habit or shed an old one…

In this week’s edition of Wag The Dog FM I am talking with Stephen Waddington, Chief Engagement Officer at Ketchum who – with his #PRBullets – is documenting exactly that.

Stephen uses doodles and drawings on Post-it notes to share these “bullets of wisdom” and it was his blogpost entitled “30 days to learn digital and social media skills” that made me reach out to him for the show.

We discuss the need for ongoing learning in our communications profession and the need for a “rapprochement” between the industry and PR practice and academic research and education.

About my guest:

Stephen Waddington is Chief Engagement Officer at Ketchum, the international communications firm. He helps clients around the world make sense of the changes in media and organisational communication, ensuring that the agency has the right people, skills and services.
